satisfaction

Am I really satisfied…I’ve rarely come across anyone who would say a humble yes…I use to often question myself and others on why we are never satisfied? The answers have actually been gnawing my insides forcing me to think why we need to go a long way before we are cleansed. From relationships to materialistic needs we always yearn for more…has any one else wondered why?
Well a few days back a friend of mine told me that satisfaction does not happen that easily cause its beyond humans to achieve a sense of limit and therefore they cannot draw a line between how much they really need and how much they keep wanting.
That’s one theory…
There’s another one that I have…I feel the very existence of this level in our lives is significant. How else will u justify our ever increasing demands? I feel that satisfaction is the key to our growth. Its because of this drive that we keep aiming for more, set new goals in life, want to do better, prove ourselves… imagine a life without ambition. We would never live or grow…we would be stagnated and according to me stagnation is death.
Therefore we should only abide by this so as to help us reach our destination which is not known by us but we want to be there soon.
So the next time your not entirely satisfied just think that your probably already on the outskirts of your destination and a little more perfection and u will get there.

i dont know why i am posting a comment to this oft repeated question.
if u want to get satisfied with ur life, i will suggest u this. just go and spend time in an orphanage- just two hours per month will do. and u will realise that u have got everthing in ur life and its time u give the excess to others who dont have it. i am not talking abt material things. i am talking abt love, ur time, ur affection and ur success.
please try it out and take others with u too.
also i will recommend u to read
'the city of joy' by dominique lapierre.

no offence archana. i didnt mean the way it sounded. i wasnt blaming ur thought process or criticising u. yes, indeed u have a right to ur opinion. and i am not saying i dont like it. all i want to say is, try being satisfied.u have only one life to live. dont waste that in pursuit of satisfaction, materialistic gains. spread happiness, help others who are not as priviledged as you and u will see that the world around will change for the better.

hey traveler...

i agree on most counts...its true...then again all of us different needs in life...and we derive satisfaction out of what it means on levels that only we understand as individuals..
u found? u still lost?

satisfaction is never complete since, new desires and needs are born the moment old ones are sated. that is the driving force of development, or destruction, depending on the perspective of the person under consideration.
btw
if one really attains a nirvana state when there are no more desires, then how would you describe him/her?

"So the next time your not entirely satisfied just think that your probably already on the outskirts of your destination and a little more perfection and u will get there.[emphasis mine]"

that was easier said than done. *sigh* working on it, though. just wanted to drop a comment in the passing.

that 'little more perfection' you talk about; for me, is all that stands between keeping it together and throwing it all away to head for the monasteries in the himalayas.

thanks for a pithy, wondrously engaging, introspective read.

agreed.......

That will be last day of the existence of the world when all will get satisfied. So its always good to dream and keep hopes, and finally pan ho to acheive them.

George Bernard Shaw:

You see things; and you say, "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say, "Why not?"

So to keep the world moving, keep yor desire open and convert them into reality.
